Maypole & Madrigals (Open)

Date: April 25, 2009
Time: Gather at 11:00am
Location: Entrance to the Garden Fair & Plant Sale, US National Arboretum, Washington, DC
Directions: http://www.usna.usda.gov/Information/directions.html

It’s a little early for Beltane, but let’s welcome spring and dance the maypole anyway! In conjunction with the Friends of the National Arboretum’s annual Garden & Plant Sale, the Washington Revels and Foggy Bottom Morris Dancers will be singing madrigals and doing maypole dances. Their performance will last about half an hour, lunch to follow (BYO picnic lunch or purchase food onsite), and then feel free to wander the sales or take a hike! More information about the FONA sale and vendors (including food!) is available at www.fona.org.

Circle of Connection

Circle Notes:

Dinner is potluck. We encourage you to bring your own non-disposable plate, cup, and utensils for the potluck to decrease environmental waste.

Becoming’s monthly Circle of Connection is our core tradition. It is here that we come together to build and strengthen our connections with the world around us, each other, and the Divine. The road to membership in Becoming begins and ends with the monthly Circle of Connection.

The circle provides a safe space to temporarily step outside of the hectic pace of our daily lives to re-affirm our relationships with the divine that infuses everything that is. It is a time of thanksgiving and healing with caring and fun people.

After dinner, we will have a Journeys discussion session for members who are currently doing a Journey and those friends and members interested in doing one in the future.

Heart Circle Gathering (Members Only)

Saturday, April 26, 2008
Time: 7:00pm - 10:00pm
Location: TBD

RSVP Required - Angela (at) Becomingdc.org

Our topic this month will be: The Divine Abounds Everywhere and Dwells in Everything. The Many are One.

Our process is simple. We create sacred space. We ground and center in our bodies in the here and now. There is a short check-in to find out what everyone is feeling. The topic or questions are posed, and we sit quietly together for a few minutes to listen to our heart’s response. Each person allows themselves to speak from the heart as we all listen and witness. This openness allows for us to deepen our connections to one another and learn from ourselves and each other.
