Becoming’s Wheel of the Year focuses on four seasonal rites that celebrate the turning of the year in this time and in this place. These rites take place when the solar and lunar energies align at the beginning of each season, and closely follow the core liturgy used in the monthly Circle of Connection.

In the spring, we celebrate the Spring Rite of Blessing with our annual pilgrimage to the source of the Potomac River in West Virginia (Fairfax Stone). This event is scheduled near the Spring Equinox when day and night are equal.

In the summer, we celebrate the Light of Summer Rite, near the Summer Solstice.

In the fall, we celebrate the Autumn Rite of Thanksgiving, near the Autumnal Equinox.

In winter, we celebrate the Dark of Winter Rite between the Winter Solstice and the nearest new moon.

Other seasonal and cultural celebrations, such as Beltane, Imbolc, Rosh Hashanah, or Samhain, are celebrated as Becoming members sponsor them, and are added to our calendar as official Becoming events.
