Apple and Pumpkin Picking

Saturday, October 27, 2007
Time: 10:30am to carpool from Silver Spring; 11:30am to meet on-site
Location: Homestead Farms, Poolesville, Maryland
Sponsored by Barbara

This is a Friends and Members event. Please RSVP to Barbara at lavendarcrone (at) yahoo (dot) com.

I was at the orchard on Sunday and was told that there would still be apples and pumpkins to pick, late in October. I went a little funny in the head and wound up picking almost 30 lbs of apples. They’re so good!

Besides pick your own, the farm stand has already picked apples, pumpkins, cider, jams, etc. and there is food to buy. They also sell the best damned caramel apples I’ve ever had! The hayride to the pumpkin fields is $3/person.

Bring a picnic lunch (with some to share) as there are picnic tables at the orchard.

If you want to carpool, we will leave Barbara’s house at 10:30am. It is about a 30 to 45-minute drive to Homestead Farm. Or you can meet us there. Just let Barbara know!

The Pirate Ritual

Time: 1:00pm
Location: National Arboretum picnic area
Sponsored by Evan and Eric

RSVP Required - Eric (at) Becomingdc.org

Raise your spiritual anchors and prepare to set sail with Captains Eric and Evan! This fourth Saturday the good captains will lead you on a journey of freedom and liberty. Pirates on the open sea are free to be who they want, free to make their own decisions, and are free of social constraints. Some constraints inhibit our self-destructive impulses, while others limit our potential as free individuals.

Aye, and we encourage you to dress like a pirate, tho’ you won’t be walkin’ the plank if you don’t.

Smartly, land lubbers, RSVP to Eric (at) becomingdc (dot) org!
