Honoring the Elements

by Astron Firewalker

Bit of an introduction: This is using the Korean system for the elements, which are earth, wood, fire, metal, and water.

Hail earth, our home, the planet that gives us life. Hail the dirt under our feet, solid under us everywhere we go. Hail to the rich provisiont of nature, that feed and shelter us. Hail to mother earth, the element of provsision and stability. Hail to earth.

May the earth under each of us remain firm.
May you always stand firm.

On the earth grow trees, which create the element of wood. Wood provides us with homes, and the trees give us oxygen. Wood is that which once was alive and will feed the earth as it rots to become alive again. Hail to wood.

May we always have shelter.
May you always have shelter.

Wood feeds fire. Fire keeps us warm, cooks our food and keeps us safe. May we always know that fire is both our tool and a powerful element that exists in a natural form beyond our ability to control it. But fire is not to be feared. Hail to fire.

May we always be warm, well fed, and safe.
May you always be warm, well fed, and safe.

In fire metal is forged. Metal can be used to protect, to make tools, or even to kill. Metal makes both the cooking pot and the sword. Each of us must choose which form of metal to use in different situations. The same iron that formed weapons in times past also makes up part of our blood. Let us always use metal to protect. Hail to metal.

May we always be protected, and protect the innocent.
May you always be protected, and protect the innocent.

Water quenches the fire. It runs in our veins with metal and comes from our mother, the earth. We drink it and bathe in it. Water can quench our thirst. It also runs in the rivers and the ocean, in which we can swim, but also drown. We should respect water. Hail to water.

May we never thirst.
May you never thirst.

We have honored the elements.

Thanks so much Carly and Angela, hope this is a help. Always glad to write ritual material. Also Persipone, I am sending this to you as well.
