Greetings!
I have been thinking lately about Becoming’s reason for being, our place in the community and the universe. Why are we here? What purpose do we serve? To me, it is all about heart.
In many cultures, the heart is the seat of the soul, the center of what makes us human, where the spark of the divine lives within us. Our monthly Circle of Connection gives us a safe space in which to discover what accessing the divine within us can mean in our lives. When we connect to the world around us through the elements, we do so from this heart. When we participate in the Divine Heart Mudra, we are making an open, flowing circuit between our hearts—between our souls. At the beginning of circle, we often say, “we open our hearts to the Heart of the Universe, and know that we are One.”
In Becoming, we learn what connection feels like. We learn how to participate and take responsibility organically. We learn to lead from our individual strengths by being who we are and doing what we have a talent for doing. Each of us learns from the example of every other person in Becoming. You all are constantly teaching me, and I try to integrate those lessons into my life and my interactions with everyone I meet.
I challenge each of us to be more open—to learning, to leading, to connecting, and to fully being and becoming. I will be excited to see where we end up.
